I’ve been taking a lot of pictures/movies with my iPhone lately. It’s a real nightmare -in Ubuntu- to move them off the iPhone. First, you have to install third party libraries to be able to access the files on your iPhone. Second, after you succesfully move the pictures, the iPhone keeps showing them in the gallery but not being able to reproduce them. The problem is that it uses a database to store info (indexes, thumbnails, etc) about your pictures and it doesn’t get updated when we move them. The solution is to delete the folder “PhotoData”. Don’t worry, it would be recreated next time you start the Photos application.
